Northampton-based vehicle contract hire and fleet management company Specialist Fleet Services Ltd (SFS) called in the expertise of artistic pupils at Duston Eldean Primary School in Northampton, to design their company Christmas card this year.
SFS have strong links with the school through Business in the Community (BITC) and the Right to Read initiative. This year 14 members of staff volunteered to be trained and CRB checked, in order to visit the school each week and assist the children with their reading.
A panel of staff at SFS selected two pictures, created by Jason West (10) and Ellie Garrett (11), to decorate the card, which will be sent out to SFS business contacts.
On Monday 12 December Jason and Ellie will be presented with a £20 voucher by SFS Director Yvette Emslie, as a thank you for their efforts.
Bob Sweetland, managing director, SFS Ltd said: “The children put in a lot of effort and the designs even included our corporate logo which is great. We are very grateful and the card will be very well received by our customers.”
Andy Stevenson, Deputy Head said: “We are delighted to have such a good relationship with a successful, local company like SFS. It’s important for the children to meet local business people and learn about what they do. The children really enjoyed this activity and they are excited about seeing the finished printed cards.”
