As part of an ongoing business expansion programme, vehicle and plant solutions provider Specialist Fleet Services (SFS) has acquired spot hire company Collett Transport Services.  The deal comes just months after SFS’ move to tailored premises in Northampton and follows a record year of growth for the company.

Commenting on the deal, Bob Sweetland, Managing Director of SFS said:”Collett Transport Services is one of the leading short to medium term hire companies in the UK.  The business operates a hire fleet of more than 100 vehicles, provides a market-leading service to its customers and also has in-house engineering capabilities. By acquiring Collett Transport Services, SFS is able to complete its contract hire offering and benefit from having extra engineering expertise within the business.  The business is the perfect fit for us and ultimately it will benefit the customers of both companies.”

Collett Transport Services will work in partnership with SFS and will still be run by its founders, Andy and Bridget Collett.
