A brand-new fleet of over 35 vehicles has arrived at Kettering Borough Council, to carry out waste, recycling, grounds and cleansing works as part of the new shared service with Corby Borough Council.

A combination of refuse trucks, specialist recycling vehicles, sweepers, tipper trucks and transit vans, the vehicles were delivered by contract hire and fleet management company, Specialist Fleet Services Ltd (SFS), ready for the February contract start. SFS will also continue to maintain the vehicles and manage the councils’ workshops.

SFS has been Kettering Borough Council’s vehicle partner for over 15 years providing vehicles, maintenance and workshop management services, and their contract was recently extended for a further 7 years.

Brendan Coleman, Head of Environmental Care, Kettering Borough Council: “The new vehicles look great in our new joint livery. SFS have been instrumental in helping us to select fit for purpose vehicles, equipped with the latest safety technology, to help us deliver the best possible service to residents across both Boroughs.”

Bob Sweetland, Managing Director, SFS: “We are delighted to be working with both Kettering and Corby Borough Councils. The new vehicles will help to deliver a more efficient, improved service.”

SFS has been delivering contract hire, fleet and workshop management solutions to the public and private sector since 1992. With a network of workshops and its own municipal vehicle hire division (CTS Hire), SFS can provide the full range of vehicle and plant solutions from short-term vehicle hire to meeting the most complex fleet requirements.
